New Zealand Fairy Tern

New zealand Fairy tern.

Status:
The New Zealand Fairy tern is at the risk of extension.

Physical description:

Habitat (Location):
These birds live on the Northern Peninsula.

Diet
The Nz Fairy Terns eat mostly fish, but they do eat snails and plant materials.

Reproduction cycle:
There are only about 12 breeding peers left in the world.

Conservation measures (what is being done to protect this species):
Nesting in a small scrape in the sand, these delicate sea birds are very vulnerable. Nest sites are roped off and signs erected to alert people to the area.

Future outlook:
If we can keep these creatures safe, breeding pears will be able to mate and make more Fairy tern birds.

1.The New Zealand fairy tern numbers approximately 40 birds and less than 12 breeding pairs.

3.it is at considerable risk of extinction due to a variety of threats including introduced predators and human disturbance.

MORE FUN FACTS, These birds also nest in Whangarei and Auckland mainly on beaches and coastlines. New Zealand Fairy Tern is confined to Australia, New Zealand and New caledonia.

I love my culture

I am maori,and i’m very proud.

I love being maori because foods like Boil up pork roast and more. But more importantly the traditions we have, Traditions like, saying a karakia, mihi and waiata. Keeping my culture is important to me because i, If u learn maori u can get a tattoo that tells a story, the curves in it tells other people were your from and your family name.

The benefits of being maori are, Loads of cousins, lots of food and best of all a beautiful family. (Every family is beautiful) Keeping your culture is important, because you can past stories down to your kids and far down generations. Haka, When you do a haka sometimes it’s to maintain dominance over each other EXAMPLE All Blacks they do a haka to try make the other team scared, and to let them know WHOS BOSS.

If your maori be proud and learn as much as you can because we need to past our language through generations.
