Ways to build your Taha-Wairua

 Ways to build your Taha-Wairua.

To build your Taha Wairua (spiritual well being) you can pray every morning. Give thanks to god for waking you up, Maybe ask god to bless your day, keep your family safe, and that no one gets hurt.

Singing spiritual songs with your siblings, can help lighten up the mood, makes you feel better and sometimes can inspire you to do good things later in that day. spiritual songs can also be another way of prayer.

Complementing your siblings or people when they feel down. Sometimes you can sense when people are sad or feeling a bit down, and sometimes you can see it by their actions. Either way, complementing them or making them feel better by cheering them up is another way.

These are several ways to build your Taha Wairua (spiritual well being)

Hippopotamus should be able to eat Rotten tomatoes in Hawaii

Statement:

Hippopotamus should be able to eat Rotten tomatoes in Hawaii

In Hawaii there has been a ban on hippopotamus eating rotten tomatoes as locals say it kills them. But! Recent studies show that about 98% of hippopotamus that eat rotten tomatoes get stronger and healthier.

Scientists proved that the 2% of those hippopotamus that aren't getting stronger or healthier, are only getting the common flu that causes no damage at all. Studies also show that rotten tomatoes hold a lot of key nutrients that hippopotamus need to survive such as Vitamin E and Vitamin C.
Facts:
1. Rotten tomatoes hold a lot of key nutrients hippopotamus need to survive
2. 98% of hippopotamus get stronger and healthier off Rotten tomatoes
3. 50% of the time rotten tomatoes help clear hippopotamus digestive system, and often helps fight of small viruses found in the stomach

I think this ban on hippopotamus eating rotten tomatoes should be changed because the rotten tomatoes that apparently “kill” hippopotamus actually helps them grow bigger and stronger, keeps them healthier, and helps their insides.

Dilworth Rugby game

Dilworth Rugby Game:

On Wensday we had a rugby game at Dilworth. We jumped on the bus and drove off, We were talking, and singing songs.

When we got to dilworth, we put on our boots and warmed up. We did high knees, side shuffle, but kicks and sprints. After that we had a team talk, our goal was to move up as a line, and just keeping our defence good.

My highlight from the game was making about 4-5 good tackles, one after another. One of the things that was funny, was the scrums. Because we were talking to the other team, and we were laughing, Also we has like 20 scrums in that game.

Even though we lost, that was our best game yet. I am proud of the boys, for trying their best, and never givng up. Also thanks to our coaches for trainging us and getting us ready.

On year 8 camp we had the best times, from paintballing to flying fox, to axe throwing and the concert night. This is my reflection on the kauaeranga valley christian camp. When we settled in we got ready for our first activity, After the acitivty we had lunch the free time, next we had showers then got ready for our dinner, we were singing and had alot of fun, for dinner we had butter chicken, IT WAS YUM!!.

The next morning we had breakfest then got ready for our long day of activities , first we did the flying fox, then the agility course, then also we did this challenge were you had to lift tyrs of this long tall poll. NExt we did paintballing, for some reason i deciding to run around shirt less, but i wasnt hurt, because its no effect. Then we did camp search and axe throwing, and also air rifles. My favourite activtie was paint balling because it was funny running around trying to hit people but also trying not to get hit. after all this we had lunch then free time, then we had dinner, this time we had nachos. Next we had concert night, but sadly my team did not come first. after all this we went to sleep.

extension walk around

On Wednesday we went for a walk around Glenn Innes and we tried out some of the games we have been designing, during term 1. First we went for a walk and found some drawing, we had to piece together letters to make a word, and finish the image. Next we found letters hanging in trees and we had to put them together and make a word. Then we went for a walk up the road to find food hanging in trees (not real food) and some drawings of food on the ground. We also found some big drawings in the middle of the round about, i think it was a great idea, because they were looking a bit plain with nothing there. Then the last game we tried was the best, it was a racing game were their was 2 players, and they had to run then stop at a place and do the challenge it says on the ground, then run to the end. When we arrived at school we discussed how fun they games were, and  we should keep then around...Personally i think it was great, it was fun and interactive.

Today we read a poem, In this poem there was a problem aka a culture barrier. There is a person named Hinewirangi, and another person. the problem is she/he doesn't know how to pronounce the name. Hinewirangi tried to teach him/her but the name was to hard. Why?. because one was maori and one was a different culture. Different culture, different accent. this means it is sometimes hard to pronounce something in that culture. After we read this poem we answered some questions, about the poem.

The abondoned bush walks

We were walking through a forest looking area when this happened, we didn’t know what it was. Hi im kahurangi but you can call me kahu, and this is my friend Rae Jae but you can call him RJ or Rae if you want.

It was a normal day, and we decided to go check out the old abandoned bush walks. We knew it would be scary but we thought it would be fun, and interesting. We gathered everything we thought we needed and set off, it was a bit of a walk before we got to the bush walks, and we had to sneak in because there were road works going on.

When we got there we sneakily climbed over the red tape and slowly disappeared into the darkness of the trees. When we felt like we were out of the public's view we sat down and had a drink of water, Looking around the wind started to pick up, and the leaves on the ground were getting blown everywhere, including our faces.

We set off further down the bush walk, when we started hearing weird noises coming from behind us, But when we looked behind us nothing was there. Telling ourselves it was the wind, we carried on. But the noises continued to annoy us, we looked behind us again, and there was a black figure we could see in the distance. We ran but it seemed to chase us.

We panicked and ran of course, we ducked behind a bush of bushes, and caught our breath, then began to run again. This black figure was very fast, and it was slowly catching up to us. Slowly but surely we got caught, but it wasn't an alien, it was a security guard, and he escorted us out.

By the time we got out, a cop car was there waiting, He took us home and we got in trouble. We got grounded for 5 weeks, and had to do every single chore in the house. We tried making excuses but they didn’t work.

Title

Will be explaining how to be a good child.

Introduction

There are many ways to be a good child, from listening and respecting your parents, to cleaning the house. These are some good ways to be a good child.

Information

1st Reason

S

E

E

Respecting your parents is very important because they are the people who supply you with food and a roof over your head. Respect is very important in everyday tasks. Showing respect to all is a good habit and life skill. No respect, no rewards.

Information

2nd Reason

S

E

E

Listening is doing what you're told. Listening to your parents, teachers and other adults if being asked to do something. If you don’t listen to your parents then you might not get those hot wheel cars, or PS5 games. But if you do then you will get those cars or games.

Information

3rd Reason

S

E

E

Cleaning is a great way to keep you and your house clean. If you tidy up things around your house without being asked, then it will help your parents a lot if they have other things to do. Not only around the house, at school, in the shopping malls. Picking up rubbish will help our planet and our environment.

Conclusion

So these are some good ways to be a better child. If you do these simple things then you could help out a lot around the house, school and in public. If you use these 3 steps then your parents might buy that PS5 game as a reward.

One day an adorable treasure named Spongbob found an oddly shaped broom.

Curious to find out what this thing was, he looked at a globe for a place that might know what it was.

When he got on the plane he fell over leaving a bruised mark on his legs and shoulder, Because of these bruising’s paramedics had to take him to hospital on the next stop.

When paramedics arrived they took Spongebob and his broom to the hospital to check out his bruises.

Luckily the lady checking out spongebob’s bruises said  “Hey, i have one off those at home”  And spongebob said “Oh, cool, what is this”, Then the lady said “ITs an ilsander broom”.

When the check up was done, spongebob left happy, hopping on the plane excited to show garry (his pet snail) his knew broom, and show off to patrick and squid ward.

For home learning the first chapter i read was in a book named, to trap a thief.

Basically the first chapter was about a boy named Connor. His mum was discussing a wedding with Denzel/Dad's parents about being engaged, and Denzels mum got angry at Connors mum, for not telling them before getting engaged, that they were going to get engaged.

Room 4

This week we played a couple of games, one of them were a challenge, were you had to build a good enough structure to hold a marshmellow for 5 seconds. The materials we had to use were 2- peices of dryed spaghetti, string, sellotape and the marshmellow. The objecteve of the game is to build the tallest structure, and hold a marshmellow on top for 5 seconds.

When me and my buddy played this game we went terrible, so we ended up using the string container thingy, to hold our structure, wich wasnt allowed but, we used it... next thing you, the building goes falling down, we start laughing and its over.

images below are some of the other games we played.
