Sentence types

We had to find a simple sentence and highlight it yellow. Next we had to find a compound sentence and highlight it green.

One lovely day a old man decided to go for a walk. He went to the pathway to find out that it was overgrown with  weeds. Back in the days it was a nice bush walk but now it is just a old muddy overgrown bush. There is rubbish everywhere in the creek down the back. The creek is yuck it used to be a nice flowing creek with lots and lots of eels.
